Disability/Classification Divisions

Open- Includes competitors who do not have a permanent physical disability. Examples include individuals with PTSD, TBI or orthopedic injuries.

SH1- Includes all competitors with a permanent physical disability that can support the weight of the gun independently and do not require a spring stand. Examples include spinal cord injury, leg amputees, etc.

SH2- Includes competitors who do not have the ability to support the weight of the rifle with their arms and therefore require a spring stand. Examples include upper body injuries, quadriplegia, and arm amputees.

SH3/VA- Includes competitors with vision impairment that has been classified by World Shooting Para Sport

Shooting Events

The 2024 Texas Regional Games will have electronic targets and scoring.

 

Due to the expectation of numerous entries and limited shooting points, we only guarantee an athlete to compete in one event. All events will start with a 15-minute preparation and sighting time at the listed start time. 

 

NOVICE:

10M Air Pistol (Open and SH1)- 40 record shots in 50 minutes

10M Air Rifle Standing (Open, SH1 and SH2)- 40 record shots in 50 minutes

10M Air Rifle Prone (Open, SH1 and SH2)- 40 record shots in 40 minutes

 

ADVANCED

*You must be Paralympic classifiable to shoot in the Advanced events. If you do not have a US Paralympic classification, we will place you in a competition group for the TRG competition only.

*Those competing in the advanced events must have a current USA Shooting membership.

*The Paralympic division relays will be sanctioned by USA Shooting.

 

10M Air Rifle Prone (SH1) – 60 record shots in 50 minutes

10M Air Rifle Prone (SH2) with loader allowed- 60 record shots in 60 minutes

10M Air Rifle Standing (SH1, SH2) – 60 record shots in 75 minutes

10M Air Pistol (SH1) – 60 record shots in 75 minutes

Junior Nationals Qualification

In order to be eligible to register for shooting at the Move United Nationals competition, an athlete must have previously competed in an approved precision air rifle competition (TRG) and must shoot a minimum score of 200 pts for a match consisting of 40 total shots for the Open – SH1 – SH2 Divisions and a minimum score of 100 pts for 40 total shots for the SH3 Division.

 

General Event Rules

  1. These event rules are modified from the International Paralympic Committee (WSPS) competition rules to suit the population and goals of Texas Regional Games.  https://www.paralympic.org/shooting/rules-and-regulations/technical-rules

  2. Each event is considered a final and awards will be given after all competitors in each division have completed their relay. 

  3. All events shall be fired at 10 meters. Only target grade (not “field” grade) air (compressed air or CO2) single shot rifles and pistols with iron sights firing .177 caliber soft lead match pellets can be used for competition.

  4. A single correcting lens may be attached to the rear sight of the rifle.  No correcting lenses may be attached to the pistol.  

  5. Male and female athletes will compete together in the same divisions.

  6. We will provide air (not CO2) but you must have your own fill adapter.

  7. We have a limited number of guns to loan out and will hand them out on a first come, first serve basis.

 

Awards

  • Medals will be given to the top three athletes in each division, provided there are at least four athletes competing in that division. 

  • Male and Female athletes will compete together and there are no separate award categories.
